Vlad III, Prince of Wallachia, member of the House of Drăculești (a.k.a. Drăculea), would be infamous for his ferocity, gaining him the nickname Vlad Țepeș, or Vlad the Impaler. But centuries later he is recalled widely for a different reason: as the inspiration behind Bram Stoker's anti-hero, Dracula. As the recent film
Dracula Untold has shown, the legacy lives on… though the history has become muddied.
Darren Clegg of
Klang Customs created the above pictured 7-inch custom Munny after seeing the trailers for the film, being truly inspired by the armor worn by Dracula… dragon themed metalwork which would've been associated more with Vlad II, known as Vlad Dracul (English: Vlad the Dragon). But regardless of the accuracy in the film, Clegg's creation is a wonderful sculptural work, an impressive Super sculpey build that has been perfectly painted. This one-of-a-kind piece will be available this week
Collect and Display for £140 (approx. $225).
