Barcelona-based architect and artist Met Bertran, also known by his
nom de guerre of
Godhay Toys, created a 7-inch
objet d'art last May from a vinyl Munny figure for the "Un Designer Toy Artesanal" exhibition in Valencia, Spain. Titled "Splash," this layered sculptural work was made with Sculpey and acrylic paints being applied to the base to make an affect similar to both the tiling in a pool as well as the waves of the ocean… a brilliant play of these connected but diametrically opposed concepts, the Russian collector that purchased the piece then commissioned Bertran to make a matching work using the 3-inch tall vinyl Dunny figure as the base. The pair are a gorgeous accompaniment for one another, and surely a highlight in the buyer's collection.
