You might remember artist
Jack's Attic from our post last year about his "Weekend at the Lake" action figure (see
HERE), but now he's back with a three mini-figure keshi set and I — as in your blogger — need your help… You see, we're told that these roughly 2-inch tall figures are named after and based on an old Famicom game titled "Zombie Disuko Smasher;" now I know Famicom was the original name of the Nintendo game system, but I can't find reference anywhere to this "super obscure and very weird 1987 Famicom game." Did it exist? Do you know it? We're told that it was about "a zombie disco (disuko) club bouncer, an alien sumo wrestler and an Akido master possessed by the Egyptian god of the dead, Anubis, [who] team up to take on a horde of demons trying to destroy Tokyo." Given a massively slick retro style, these bagged figures don't have a header card… they have a header cartridge! Yes, a vintage, non-working Famicom cartridge! And the even come with a three panel perforated trading card set that have game tips on the back. But did this game really exist or is this all a wonderful rouse by the artist? Maybe I'll figure it out when I buy one… Limited to an edition of only 7 pieces, these will be available on May 28th, 2014 in
Jack's Attic's online shop for $12 per set. And, as a bonus, one random buyer will receive a second set cast in M.U.S.C.L.E. pink (pictured below)!
