I've been a fan of
RESTORE's work for several years, but — in that time — I don't believe Abe's creations have ever been featured in a gallery setting… a shame that is about to be rectified! The four above pictured pieces — three 6.7-inch tall "Debris Japan" and one 9.5-inch tall "Kingdom Mind" — are all one-off evolutions of their base figures that will be part of the
previously announced "Total Atomic Meltdown" at
The Clutter Gallery. Cast mainly in
sofubi (Japanese vinyl) — the "Kingdom Mind" has some resin cast parts — these hand-painted pieces something a little extra… and I'm not talking about those
omamori laden blindfolds on the "Debris Japan" figures. No, each and every piece has at least one phallic-shaped addition to the base design! A shocking but beautifully executed addition to the figures, these are sure to be high demand pieces… especially if they end up being debut designs for the next evolution of R
ESTORE overall. Those interested in trying to obtain these 'white whales' should join the
Clutter Gallery Preview List for first dibs on exhibition works!
"
