Screen printed movie poster powerhouse
Mondo prepares to release a new variety of limited edition silkscreen artworks for their adoring fans. Pictured above are two pieces by artist
Martin Ansin, obviously intended to be displayed side-by-side, which depict the popular 1980 "Flash Gordon" film (left) and the 1938 "Flash Gordon's Trip to Mars" serial (right). Both are 24"×36" screen prints that are limited to an edition of 375 hand-numbered pieces, each one costing $50 apiece. Pictured below are
Kevin Tong's contributions, a poster for last year's "Upstream Color" (left) and the classic film "Das Cabinet des Dr. Caligari" (or, The Cabinet of Dr. Caligari), which will be available in a regular and variant version, pictured in the middle and on the right respectively. All measuring 24"×36" again, Tong's "Upstream Color" is limited to an edition of 215 hand-numbered copies for $45 apiece while the regular edition of "Das Cabinet des Dr. Caligari" is limited to 300 hand-numbered copies for $45 apiece and the variant is limited to 150 hand-numbered copies for $70 apiece. Bearing in mind that most Mondo prints sell out within minutes, the only way you'll have a chance to snag one of these will be by following
Mondo's Twitter feed, as that is where they will announce when the piece is available in
their web shop today (March 27th, 2014)!
