Funko is set to launch Hikari Japanese Vinyl in Spring/Summer 2014!

Revealed at New York Toy Fair 2014 from Funko was a new project that was quite a surprise to most... they decided to throw their hat into the limited edition Japanese sofubi ring ( I wonder if Super7's Brian Flynn had any influence in this seeing as they are working together on ReAction figures with Funko)... how's that make all you Skull Brainers feel?!?! Hikari is a highly collectible line of clear sofubi vinyl inspired by limited edition hand crafted Japanese vinyl figures. Each piece will be hand numbered and limited in quantity. These Hikari pieces will come packaged in a special edition clear tube with an on/off LED light to display these one of a kind figures... kinda cool, their own personal display case!

First up... Batman and Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles!!! Glitter Blue Batman • Black Glitter Batman • Gold Glitter Batman • Metallic Blue Batman • Glitter Donatello • Glitter Raphael • Glitter Leonardo • Glitter Michelangelo • Gold Glitter Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle • Metallic Raphael • Grey Glitter Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle! These will be the first licenses released in the Hikari line with more properties such as Star Wars, Marvel, Ghostbusters, and many more to follow in 2014. Seeing as it is Funko, hopefully they get a handle on their QC issues as they are actually pretty cool figures, but paint application and shoddy craftsmanship really seems to plague Funko and their products... we will soon find out!
