Even though the
previously announced "Vive La Lolligag!” group exhibition at
Toy Art Gallery is over — and the piece has been sold — we still need to show off the stunning piece that
DeeTen contributed. Entitled "The Idol of Luck and Prosperity, circa 1886," this sculptural work merges the artist's typical steampunk-esque aesthetic with some Cambodian inspired aspects and even a hint of that Indiana Jones adventuresomeness. Constructed using metal, clay, clam shells, and plastic to modify the original vinyl form, DeeTen completed the unearthed relics construction with a careful application of acrylic paints. Rightfully sold during the exhibition, this one-of-a-kind
objet d'art is sadly not available.
