Penny Taylor (aka
Taylored Curiosities) continues to expand her new Okemordyn line, now with the inclusion of one-of-a-kind exhibition pieces. Combining her love of nature with her talents for needle felting, sculpting, casting, and painting, Taylor has created the "A Gibblegump Nest" mixed media toy work for the upcoming "Around the World in 80 Toys" group exhibition. This 4½×4½-inch piece includes a resin cast mother Gibblegump and all three of the differently sized babies, which are fully removable from the whole; while the babies sit inside their nest pods and the mother is resting on a leafy bed most of the time, you can take them out and go on adventures.
The "Around the World in 80 Toys" group exhibition will be on display in February/March 2014 as part of the Adelaide Fringe Festival, the biggest arts festival in the Southern Hemisphereat, at
Espionage Gallery, Adelaide Suite 1, Level 2, 93 Rundle Mall, Adelaide, SA, 5000, Australia.
