If he's not busy teaching, running, sculpting projects for other artists, or spending quality time with his family, artist
Kevin Gosselin finds time to squeeze in commission work, and above is his latest masterpiece... "
Viking Relic" a custom Coarse Toys PAW vinyl figure! As you can see, Kevin altered the right hand a bit giving PAW a wrist and brought the fingers into a grip pose so that it could hold the sword handle.... and it really works! Kevin mentioned that "
The thing that takes the longest is methodically shaving off a 1/16 inch layer of vinyl so that the addition of resin does not make the final piece appear bulky but rather transformed." Crazy right?!?! He then goes onto say that he has around 80-90 hours of work put into this piece... and it shows! This really reminds me of an ancient statue... something along the banks of the 'River Anduin' straight out of the Lord Of The Rings. I love the chain mail, textured cracks, and added moss... so awesome! Amazing work like always, Kevin!
