One of the biggest treats for me at this year's New York Comic Con was being able to carefully inspect
Triplikid two brand new resin figures, both having detail laden sculpts and masterfully executed, intricate paint jobs. The 5-inch tall "
Mirth" figure (top) truly impresses not only with the textured fur elements but the smooth, realistic manner in which the lip overlaps onto the face… it really must be seen to be believed how flawless this design is! And, of course, he comes with his own delicate flower accessory that is just perfectly suited for his form. But, for me, the other figure — the 4.5-inch tall "
Dolor" (bottom) — was the true winner… a seamlessly executed amphibian warrior bearing forth an axe with 3 tiny skulls dangling from real chains!
All produced in resin by
Mana Studios, there were only 25 copies of each design made in these painted colorways and these very well might be the only painted versions produced! Available tomorrow (Friday, November 8th, 2013) at 9
AM Pacific time in
Triplikid's online store, these painted versions will be $80 apiece and — I'm guessing — they will disappear fast. But, of course, the more artistically minded out there can buy the DIY version of each design for $40 apiece and paint it to their heart's content. Dropping alongside these will be the small amount of remaining stock on the Glow-in-the-Dark Groper figures, which are bright enough to become even the most scared child's nightlight, for $75 apiece! So mark your calendars… Friday, November 8th, 2013 at 9
AM Pacific time is the time to zoom on over to
