Tomorrow night is the opening of the
previously announced "Fonzo Loves California" exhibition, for which a plethora of amazing artists have customized
Freak Store's Fonzo platform. As such, we'll be doing tons of last minute teasers from this stunning show all day long… but given the breadth of talent involved, the diversity is sure to keep it interesting! Using the most careful application of paints,
64 Colors (Top Left) have transformed the figure from a bulldog into what appears to be a seal dressed in a Mickey Mouse costume!?! The brilliance of which is matched by
Charles Rodríguez's "Igaluk" (Top Right and Pictured Below), which makes the figure into an explorer of the wintery wastes… riding his trusty sled which is drawn by his labbit companion! And like Rodríguez, who is known for his texturing,
MAp-MAp (Bottom Left) converts the design into a sculpted beast, both adorable and breath-taking! Then
Mike Fudge (Bottom Right) uses clean line work and crisp swaths of color to make his elderly American Indian chief inspired creation.
