Yosiell Lorenzo invites you to his debut solo show San Francisco sculpture show, "
Into the Swamp". Opening this Friday, October 4th 2013 from 6pm-8pm, you’re invited to view a small window into the lives of the Sicklings as they journey from their Somber Hollow home. Enjoy sculptures and shadow boxes of these fanciful creatures as they hunt and gather. Yosiell does an amazing job crafting these little creatures and showing them in their natural habitats... and the images in this post are just a small fraction of what you will see at the show!
The different tableaus provide an opportunity for each of us to be an anthropologist studying the world of the Sicklings. Enjoy this glimpse of a world different from ours, and yet often mirroring our own preindustrial cultures. The artist offers you a glimpse into the predawn and twilight hours of our imaginations as he presents Into the Swamp.
