Matt Hawkins, one of the kings of the paper toy movement, has been working on some limited edition 3D paper sculptures in an 11" x 14" X 3" wood shadow boxes. He mentions that his goal is to offer fans of his work a more affordable and durable way to collect his art. Two of these new designs "Nashville Cat" and "Vinyl Zombie" are paper sculpture built around a 45 rpm record and are inspired by his own record collecting addiction. Two more designs "Kansas City Screwball" and "Never Fear Beer" are inspired by two of his other addictions... following his hometown team the KC Royals and beer... YES!!!
Each one is hand cut, assembled, and signed by Matt, printed on archival paper w/ archival inks, and are creatively mounted with Glass in the front and ready to hang. Matt mention that he is really having a blast making these things so he'll be adding more designs over the next few months. If you dig these as much as I do, head on over to his online store
HERE right now and pick them up! Great stuff, man, and keep em' coming!
