Chew presents a rather unique world: in the aftermath of a massive bird flu outbreak in America, the government is forced to ban the consumption of all fowl, including chicken. And, of course, to stop the hordes of blackmarket chicken restaurants, the FDA overnight becomes one of the most powerful organizations in the U.S. Seems simple enough, until biological engineering introduced a 'bootleg chicken' alternative: the Chog. Half-chicken and half-frog, the Chog (or sometimes Fricken) is adorable, delicious and disease-free! And, now, it's made out of vinyl too!
Thanks to the talented craftsmen at
Skelton Crew Studio, who have previously created brilliant replicas of the keys from Joe Hill's
Locke & Key series, have remade the Chog as a vinyl designer toy. Initially announced with a release date of Winter 2013, these brilliant looking pieces were set to debut with "limited edition raspberry and yellow and a paint-it-yourself white." According to the above pictured advertisement, the pieces are available now… which they are not; but this certainly implies that these pieces will be available shortly in either the
Skelton Crew online shop or
Rob Guillory's store.
