With a self-described fondness of scary beasties, UK artist
Eelus couldn't resist interpreting the infamous broken Statue of Liberty head from
Cloverfield when he was invited into
Gallery1988's official exhibition of artworks inspired by J.J. Abrams's Bad Robot productions. This piece was hand-cut from acid free paper, painted with spray paint, and box framed behind 'invisible' glass, giving the whole a very sleek look — which comes as no surprise considering the talent level of this artist. I personally wish Eelus was in more group shows of this sort, as his style is striking and fantastic.
"The Official Bad Robot Art Experience" will open April 26th with a reception from 7-10
PM Pacific time and run through May 18th, 2013 at
Gallery1988, 7308 Melrose Ave., Los Angeles, CA 90046.
