Martin Hsu's custom Swanicorn for Daniel Fleres x Dragatomi show!

While this might not be the most radical reinterpretation of Daniel Fleres's Swanicorn that we've seen, Martin Hsu brings his delicate and immaculate painted lines to life on the 3D base. These work-in-progress critter, created for the previously announced "The Gathering" group exhibition at Dragatomi, is being dubbed the "Spring Swanicorn" by me… Hsu teases that "Spring is almost here for all Swanicorns," "Some early blooms for the Swanicorn" and "Tis the season to blossom for all Swanicorns," so the references to the impending season are already quite strong in this simply stunning work of art.

"The Gathering" opens on March 9th, 2013 with a reception from 6-9PM at Dragatomi, 2317 J St., Sacramento, CA 95816.
