The other day, while
reviewing Don P's QiQi custom, I used the term
deus ex machina, which is Latin for "god from the machine" and was typically used in theatre to describe a divine character being descended on ropes to solve all the problems of the plot with a snap of the fingers. The phrase obviously had impact with Don P, for he has now delivered his very first custom 8-inch Dunny to us and it is called, you guessed it, "Deus ex machina." I'm not quite sure what the golem-like creature has to do with the "god in the machine" concept, but I love the sculpt on this guy… the cracked hide, the detail laden face. The paint job has a very subtle shift of hues, which make it look far more simple than it is. Overall, superb.
