As an avid reader of mythology and theology, it pleases me that
Darren Clegg utilized a proper fallen angel's name for his piece; "Azazel," according to
Enoch I, was actually one of the chiefs in Lucifer's rebellion and indeed was counted among the 200 fallen angels that resulted. Though he is meant to have "taught men to fashion swords and shields" while he showed women "finery and the art of beautifying eyelids," this latter part being something I can't foresee in this wonderfully oil-slicked interpretation of this "lord of hell." Accuracy put aside, especially since this fallen angel was known to take various forms, the custom looks great and Clegg did a wonderful job of resculpting the body into a dynamic pose. This piece will be available from
Collect and Display on February 16th, 2013, though the time of release and price are undisclosed.
