Believe it or not, I've actually taken a fair amount of sh*t over the last year for being an avid
JFury supporter. There are quite a few people out there that called him one-note since he created clowns frequently, but those people just couldn't get past the surface… because underneath that clown facade, I saw an artist that was improving skill set after skill set with each piece. And he's been getting to a place recently where he's put the clowns aside, allowing his perfectly crisp paints and immaculately made sculpts to shine. A perfect example being the above pictured "Vegan-stein" 8-inch Dunny, which showcases what JFury is capable of: absolutely mind-blowing pieces. Every single inch of that head makes me 'oh' and 'ah'; yes, the body might not be as elaborate, but when you create a head like that then you don't want to detract from it.
More commission pieces (like the "Vegan-stein"), we find JFury turning his attention to superheroes as per a collector's request: three 3-inch Dunnys meant to have "the look of the classic comic illustrations." Tight paints and tiny — but important — sculpted elements really do stand out here, but these don't have that sense of fun that JFury usually puts into his work. Maybe he felt constricted by the theme or interpreting such iconic designs, but these just don't 'pop' as much as his pieces usually do. Want a JFury piece of your own?
Contact him and get on his commission list before it fills up for the entire year!
