*RECAP* The Second Annual Designer Toy Awards during New York Comic Con 2012

Before I really get into the meat of our NYCC 2012 recaps, I decided to let you all know about the 2nd Annual Designer Toy Awards, which kicked off on Saturday night during the convention. Clutter Magazine, along with a ton of their sponsors, really put on an amazing show. The venue was cozy, quaint, and the perfect size to host all of the "who's who" in the Designer Toy Industry. As most of you know, SpankyStokes.com was up for 'Best Blog' so I was fortunate enough to be on hand when Ryan "The Wheelbarrow" announced that we had taken home the trophy... HOLY SMOKES... what an honor. I am still - after 3 days - speechless, and completely and utterly overwhelmed with joy and disbelief that all of YOU, who helped myself and the other writers of this blog, take home this prestigious award. Needless to say, I planned on taking photos at this event, but failed to do so as after the award was given I fell to the back of the room in disbelief... the rest of the night was very surreal. I personally would like to thank Nick aka TrustPigs, Kelly Salih, and the rest of the writers who have helped me out with SS.com over the years... words can't describe how fortunate and humbled I feel for the support and help you have given. Most importantly, I want to thank my wife, Jamie Lee, for allowing me to pursue my passion, with understanding and patience... many, many, many, long hours go into this site... and my wonderful wife allows me to put those long hours in - Love you babe. Lastly, a HUGE congrats to the rest of the winners, you all put in the time, effort, and love... so this is well deserved!!!
