"Death Becomes Her" custom Hazel by SpankyStokes for '2-Faced' show at Gunnzo 10/13/2012

I was recently asked to be in the '2-Faced' show which is being held at Gunnzo in San Diego, this weekend on Saturday, October 13th 2012... and above is my contrubution to this show. There were about 20 or so artists that were given a Hazel figure (originally designed by Kathie Olivias) to customize as they saw fit... keeping in mind the theme '2-faced'. The figure itself is such a distinct shape, making concepting for it tough, but once I dove in, ideas started to flow. The already alien like figure was begging for tentacles, and I had a few laying around that I bought from a novelty store. I filled them up with resin, and plugged them into the already existing legs. Once they were set up, I cast the brain and 2 horns in resin, fixed them to the head, and then proceeded to sculpt around the remaining raw vinyl. The white wash was something I decided to try and ended up really liking, and then my wife suggested using the eyes that you see above... a great suggestion I might add. Overall, the piece stands over 14" tall, and I am extremely happy with the way it turned out.
