Joe Ledbetter's "Princess BBQ" custom Uglydoll for the Giant Robot "Biennale 3" show!
It's not very often where you see artists such as Joe Ledbetter do customs for HUGE group custom shows, but it's obvious that he holds the folks over at Giant Robot in high regard because he agreed to customize an Uglydoll 'Kaiju Babo' for the upcoming "Giant Robot Biennale 3" group custom show... and I'm glad he did!!! Titled "Princess BBQ", Joe's super clean illustrative style shines through on this fantastic piece. The muted down colors, the depth of painted on textures... this just screams fantastic... and how cool is that additional burning building!!! This figure harkens back to Joe's "FireCat" figure... well, I guess just the similar flames shooting out of the mouth... but damn does it look good! Be sure to head on out to see this piece... as well as so many others in person next Saturday!
The "Giant Robot Biennale 3" opens on September 22nd and runs through January 20th, 2013 at the Japanese American National Museum, 369 East First St., Los Angeles, CA 90012. Also on display is the Project Remix custom vinyl show with over 80 artists from seven countries.
