"TOKUSATSU: Japanese Science Fiction" group art show opening on September 15th 2012
Q Pop Shop and Mini Gallery is proud to host a new group art exhibition entitled, “Tokusatsu: Japanese Science-Fiction.” Over 100 talented artists from all over the world will be participating in the show. Wanna know who's involved... well, here is a short list of some the participating artists: APAK, Chikuwaemil, Sean D'Anconia, Becky Dreistadt, Brian Flynn (Super 7), Josh Herbolsheimer (Super 7), Martin Hsu, Mari Inukai, Paul Kaiju, Konatsu, Chris Mitchell, Mark Nagata, Itokin Park, PICO PICO, Plasticgod, Sunguts, Crowded Teeth, TOUMA, Michelle Valigura, Amanda Visell, and many more… Tokusatsu (特撮) is a Japanese term that applies to any live-action film or television drama that usually features superheroes and/or monsters and makes considerable use of special effects. An opening reception will take place on Saturday, September 15, from 7:00 – 10:00 PM, and feature a live DJ, Kaiju costume contest, photo booth, food trucks, and projected Tokusatsu shows.
