The Loyal Subjects x Transformers's T-Shirts Revealed!
Following the previous announcement that The Loyal Subjects had scored a Transformers license from Hasbro, we've received a first peek at what's to come… and first up is a series of t-shirts depicting Generation 1 Autobots and Decepticons in a Super-D (Super Deformed or Chibi) state. Slated for release are eight shirts showing Transformers — Optimus Prime, Bumblebee, Grimlock, Jazz, Megatron, Soundwave, Starscream and Thunderclap — as well as two logo shirts, emblazoned with the names "Optimus Prime" and "Megatron" in a traditional Transformers font.
While I'm sure these $23.99 tees will sell well when released in September, I'm sadly underwhelmed. If it didn't announce the name of the character and company under each design, I'd honestly be stretching to figure out who some designs were of and I certainly would never guess that The Loyal Subjects had released these.
And since these designs do look like stylized toys — though admittedly ones that anyone could've released — I have a sneaking fear that this might be exactly what we're getting as far as a vinyl release is concerned.
