Martin Hsu's "Dragon Boy GO!" art show Recap!
It's rare when we get art show recap photos from an artist that they are accompanied by a well-written, personal description of the events… but that's exactly what Martin Hsu provided with his pictures from the previously announced "Dragon Boy GO!" exhibition. So, without further ado, take it away, Martin…
As you might've seen on Facebook, it was an incredible night filled with lots of enthusiasm and love! Being my first show in Asia, I had no clue the reaction would be this tremendous. The room was packed! We had a great time telling people the story behind Dragon Boy and also educate them about the designer toy world!
8 of my cousins (all wearing Dragon Boy tees) came up with me in the morning to start setting up the show along with Vince from VTSS toys and his friends. It took us just under 4 hours to unload everything, put up all the paintings, package all the products, and everything else! It was super frantic, but really exciting at the same time. It wouldn't have happened without everyone's help!
Dragon Boy lifesize!!! Yes, it was also the reveal of the 3' tall Dragon Boy lifesize to the public. These guys came out amazing! All details intact and extra big smiles :) We've already gotten some interested people who'd like to own them, but for anyone else who's interested, please have them email me directly!
The highlight of the night is definitely when my 94 yr old grandfather stood in line to have me sign his Dragon Boy vinyl toy!!! As soon as I realized that, I jumped out of my seat and yelled "My 94yr old is waiting in line!" The crowd parted like the Red Sea and my grandpa slowly approached the table. I don't think I've ever been so nervous signing something, but it was an incredible moment that I'll never forget!!! I can only hope he's proud of what I've done!
You can see more pics from the night on my Facebook HERE. It was truly a family event and I can't wait to do it again!
From the looks of it... the show did look quite spectacular! Congrats goes out to Martin for all his recent success! For more photos from the event, be sure to hit the jump for a full photo slideshow!
