"ION MEN" by A.O.I. Toys... brings interchangeability and playability to a whole new level!
A while back I was asked by Matty of Anyoldion Toys or A.O.I. if I wanted to be involved with his upcoming mini figure project where it involved toys designed by Matt Walls with Dan Turbo Pistolla Smith that includes the Seismic Ace, Beartank and Centurion K16 robots from the now defunct Smash Tokyo Toys. The mini series will expand to include over 60+ variations of 8 main characters and is being handled in Japan by Velocitron with the original sculpts being done by the masters of Japanese vinyl, Siccaluna.
This project was cool in a way where parts are interchangeable, and Matty wanted to involve my "Stroll" figure... so what better way than to turn my hairy beast into a robot-mecha of sorts! Above you can see the rough head sculpts as well as the OG illustrated turnarounds. The other two heads are Seismic King and Big Damage Centurion. The toys are now called "ION MEN" by A.O.I. and are still being sculpted in Japan. They have 7 points of articulation at this stage and will vary betwen 3-3.5"+ tall. They are named (at this time) Seismic King, Centurion K16, Kumatank, Murder Boner, XLR8OR 88, StrollBot v2.0, Trojan Hoss and Big Damage Centurion!!! This is going to be a really cool project... so if you would like to stay up to date, hit up the A.O.I. website HERE.
