Positive Creations's custom Lil'G Mini Boombox for SpankyStokes group show!

Chris Dyer, better known as skateboard deck artist Positive Creations, produced this trippy custom resin "Lil'G Mini Boombox" for the upcoming Boombox-tastic Custom Show. While the paint job & design look great in Dyer's normal psychedelic style, I am 'bothered' by the fact that — as a child of the boombox generation — my Pink Floyd or Captain Beefheart or other psychedlic rock bands wouldn't have been playing on my 'ghetto blaster.' Maybe I'm being too literal minded about it, but I want to see hip-hop, punk and metal designs on these bad boys… the sub-cultural music movements that rose with the invention of the cassette tape. Regardless of my personal quirk, it is a fantastically painted piece with such vibrantly hallucinogenic colors.

The "Boombox-tastic Custom Show" will be exclusively available online starting June 13th at SpankyStokes.com.
