Dok A.'s "The Candy Factory" custom is... AMAZING!!
For the upcoming Monsters & Misfits II show, UK based artist Doktor A. went all out on many pieces... and above is an example of just one of many that will be on display! Titled "Joshua Hipplethwaite Confectioner and Innovator" aka "The Candy Factory", this amazing custom hand crafted one-off piece looks absolutely stunning, and just look at all those details!
"Joshua Hipplethwaite Confectioner and innovator, Joshua is the creator of the renown Ee-by-Gum, chewing candy. This popular delicacy has an odd intoxicating effect on team driven Mechtorians, but is repugnant to those who are spring wound. One of the fastest selling sweets in history, it’s long term effects are unknown and its prohibition has been called for in some quarters. Though he does not partake himself Joshua wised to dispense his product as far as possible. To this end he rebuilt his own body so he could crank out the candy wherever he traveled. First one is free! And they always come back for more."Dok mentions that this creation is made from: Styrene, Vinyl, Epoxy Resin, Polymer Clay, Lead, ABS, Glass, Silicone Rubber, Copper, Aluminium, Found Objects... pretty much anything and everything under the sun... and it shows! It is simply fantastic all of the characters the Dok continues to manifest from thought to 3D... and his ideas seem to be endless. I can't wait to see what he has in store for the rest of Japan for this show, which is set to open tomorrow! Monsters & Misfits II, opens April Friday the 13th at Kusakabe Folk Museum, Takayama, Japan in conjunction with Tomenosuke!
