*RECAP* “Paulyvinyl State of Mind” solo show featuring Paul Kaiju @ Toy Art Gallery 03/04/2012

Last night in Los Angeles, Toy Art Gallery opened its doors to the one and only Paul Kaiju for his first ever solo show titled “Paulyvinyl State of Mind”... and for the LONG line that formed outside the gallery it was obvious that Paul’s work needed no introduction! Folks came from across the United States for this show, near and far, just in hopes to snag one of the many custom pieces that Paul created. It was insane to see the support from the fans as they lined up starting early Saturday morning to snag a ticket which granted the ticket holder to purchase pieces from the Gallery. As it got later into the night, the line of ticket holders started to form outside the gallery doors and once the clock struck 7pm, the doors opened and TAG employees escorted anxious buyers into the store one buy one... keeping tabs on what pieces they wanted the most! It was a really cool way to keep the chaos down to a minimum... and almost everyone was able to snag up a piece... that being said, the majority of the show sold out in less than 1 hour!

One of the big attractions to the show was Paul's rad Boss Carrion figure, supersized to a 4' tall fiberglass sculpture... that was painted up by Paul for this event. Oh, and there is going to be a run of these later on so for all of you Paul Kaiju fans out there, start clearing some floor space... this is a must! There was a little bit of everything for everyone from $15 hand cast resin creations to $300 one-off custom painted Mockbats... Paul really outdid himself for this show... and the turnout was seriously massive. Paul even had some prototypes on hand to show off to gallery goers... one of which was a massive "Pollen Kaiser" figure that TAG is set to produce later on this year as a massive 18+" vinyl figure! “PAULYVINYL” is a limited engagement and is set to run through March 18th.... where a few pieces will be on display for you all to see. I want to say a HUGE congrats to Paul for having such a stellar show, and also to TAG for handling it very well! I ended up taking a ton of photos from this event, so be sure to hit the jump to check them all out!
