Oak Thunder Monkey - Chase figure with wind-up Monkey Workshop. Oak symbolizes strength and is the tree associated with Thor, possibly because the trees are tall and are often struck by lightning. This figure is the centerpiece of the collection; he is a Monkey Prince and will have a crown.
Mahogany Hurricane Monkey - Based on Carribbean beach shacks, with thatches and palm leaves. Also draws reference from tropical hurricanes which have shaped the history of that region. Mahogany is the national tree of Belize and the Dominican Republic.
Teak Monsoon Monkey - Teak is native to South Asia, this custom draws inspiration from Indian carpentry and the Monsoon. It is a popular wood for carving in South Asia, so the carpentry on the piece will include some carved details in the style of the region.
Pine Snow Monkey - Pine is a tree associated with winter and the winter solstice as it is evergreen. It also thrives on mountains so this piece will be inspired by alpine ski chalets, sprinkled with snow.
Ebony Night Monkey - Glow in the dark chase figure. Ebony is a very dark, heavy timber with mystical associations. This monkey will feature a night sky with glowing star constellations.
Cherry Blossom Monkey - Cherry Blossoms are associated with the ephemeral nature of life and Zen Buddhism in Japan as they resemble clouds. The wooden elements will reference Japanese carpentry, which has a very distinctive look.
Elm Dusk Monkey - Elm is a dying breed and has always been associated with the underworld and death. It is also used to make coffins. This will form the inspiration for the design of this piece, set against a dusk sky, symbolizing the nature of the timber.
