Sickboy reinterprets his street art for the gallery
Last year, UK street artist Sickboy had a gallery show called "Heaven and Earth"… and this year sees him hopping across the pond, to the U.S., to do something new: "Wonder Club." Opening March 17th at White Walls in San Francisco, "Wonder Club" will surely be a feast for the eyes. Including eight new large-scale (4-foot-by-3-foot) paintings focused on the inner workings of the human body, the exhibit will also include smaller works made of mixed media ephemera, an installation space that visitors may enter called the "Artist's Refuge," and a video collaboration with Viktor Vauthier. Sickboy plans to bring his sense of wonder and dream-lust to us, and I'm sure it will garner the expected "ohh"s and "ahh"s.
"Wonder Club" opens on March 17th and runs through April 7th at the White Walls Gallery, 835 Larkin Street, San Francisco, CA 94109. www.whitewallssf.com
