BlackList x Motorbot figure set + R13 t-shirt + trade paperback can all be yours…
We've been huge fans of the Robot13 comic series put out by BlackList Studios since, well, the beginning… we've written about the release of issues #1, 2 & 3, as well as held a Free Goodie Friday with BlackList. And why wouldn't we love them? The art is reminiscent of Mike Mignola's style, which most might know from his Hellboy creation, without being overly derivative; there's a more playful looseness of linework. And the plot is… well… it's about a skull-headed robot who fights giant monsters, okay!?! Imagine a tricked out sci-fi take on Greek mythology and you're kinda getting the idea. Needless to say, we're fans here.
But now BlackList need our help, dear readers. They want to release a trade paperback collection of this wonderful series but need some support to finance it: so, yes, a KickStarter campaign it is. There are some amazing incentives at the various levels, but I'd eye closely the $50 one… a set of BlackList Studio mini-figures by Dead Bear Studios aka Motorbot! Dollars for donuts, that's what this teaser from Motorbot's Twitter feed was all about:
Check that size and detail work out. Motorbot always impresses, but this is some finely crafted wares here. So yes, I'd suggest plunking down $50 and getting the figure set, a glow-in-the-dark t-shirt, a copy of the trade, and a button set. That's some serious bang for your buck!
