Huck Gee's "The Seven Samurai" custom set
Are you all ready for the final reveal of Huck Gee's private commission project that collector johnnyvinyl has been sharing with us for the past few weeks HERE, HERE, and HERE... well the time is now and what an epic set of figures we have to show you today, and according to johnnyvinyl "It's the most personal for me. This is because the subject matter has been a source of fascination and inspiration since I was very young. When I was a little boy, my father took me to see the great western, The Magnificent Seven and it made a huge impression on me." He goes on to mention that "I later discovered that The Magnificent Seven was actually based on an earlier classic cinematic work by the legendary Japanese director, Akira Kurosawa, The Seven Samurai. Of course, once I saw The Seven Samurai, I was hooked and there began a lifelong obsession with Japan and its fabled warrior culture."
Huck went all out with this set as he has hand-painted each kimono, each samurai's katana/weapon has been cast in stainless steel, and the identifying characteristics of each character has been captured with that rare eye and skill that Huck has. So now that we have seen all of these amazing pieces... I personally can't wait to see them all together!
