WHAT'S NEW

Bwana Spoons "Forest Island What The F!" mini blind-box figure series that never was!

Quite often in the designer toy scene projects pop up that have been "killed off" for one reason or another... and just recently Bwana Spoons posted up some images of a mini-figure series that would be AWESOME if released! Bwana goes on to explain. "About 4 years ago I teamed up with the now defunct StrangeCo toy company. We set out on a journey to make radness. Something that was to turn heads and just be the beginning buds of an ongoing series. We were starting with a blindbox series, a band set, and a killer with babies set. Destined for awesomeness we thought... but ended up with major delays on StrangeCo's and the factories part. Then the economy crashed and StrangeCo slid into the abyss."

As you can see, there are a ton of familiar characters that we have seen in Bwana's vast universe of misfits... and even some not very recongizable. Bwana goes on to say "I was going for a heavilly Playmobile inspired, fully interchangeable, ABS explosion. Something that would endure years of play by adults and kids that wanted to play with creatures that drank moonshine and wielded knives. What we/I ended up with is this pile of PVC testshots and prototypes. Some of which is extremely awesome and some of which is garbage. The scultors had a really hard time understanding that I wanted this all to be completely interchangeable, so lots of holes and plugs are dif sizes, and some stuff is just plain wonky. When I got this box I was both elated and very sad. I'll chalk it up to a great learning experience and will have a pretty good nug of knowledge if i get a chance like this again." I can almost guarantee that I am not the only one that would love to see a blind-box series from Bwana... or even from the majority of the GrassHut crew. Who knows if that will ever happen, but I do love seeing all of these figures... a great look into the past! For more photos, hit the link HERE.
