*RECAP* "STOP IT!" Group Show @ Munky King
Last night I had the opportunity to drive up to Los Angeles to attend Cooper Berella aka SuperCooper's second curated art show titled "Stop It!" which was held at Munky King Gallery on Melrose... and wow was I blown away at the sheer amount of art on display for this show. Coopster did an amazing job, with the help of his family, to pretty much round up a who's who list of participants for this show and everyone who participated brought their 'A' game!
There were custom toys, one-off sculptures, resin pieces, plush figures, prints, photographs, paintings, screen prints... a little bit of every medium was represented at the gallery and with so many participants it really filled the gallery wall with a collage of visual eye candy that invited the viewer to fully interpret the theme of the show, which was bullying/cyber-bullying! Oh, and it was Coopers 12th b-day party as well which made the event that much more special with cake, drinks, cookies and an outside taco cart... awesome! This event drew the biggest crowd I have ever seen for a show at Munky King, and rightfully so as it was all for a great cause! The show itself will be on display for 2 weeks, so if you were unable to make it out, be sure to swing by and see all the art in person... well worth it! Hit the jump for a HUGE photo slide show from the event!
