"The Guardian" custom from Mikie Graham
Pulled directly from the celluloid frames of 80's cult classic "Big Trouble in Little China" Mikie Graham is proud to unveil his newest toy monstrosity "The Guardian." Created for tomorrows "Big Trouble in Little China" tribute show at Dragatomi, Mikie went all out on this piece. Built from a Mega Munny head and over 5 lbs of Magic Sculpt, this 1/1 scale recreation captures the film's gruesome creature in full life size! Working with the Munny's natural head shape, Mikie used the inward slope of the nose for the Guardian's huge eyeball, and the Munny's ear's as negative space for the beast's tentacle eyeballs to seemingly float in mid air. For added play value Mikie attached his creation to a lazy Susan base, allowing it to be spun in any direction for a better view of the monster from all angles!
See Mikie's creation, along with over 25 other artists interpretation of John Carpenter's classic film at Dragatomi in Sacramento, CA opening 4/9/11 at 7pm. Or check out the show online at Dragatomi.com. And as always, you can follow Mikie on Twitter @zombiemonkie.
