*RECAP* Toxic Catalyst show at Super7
This past Saturday Super7 played host to the Monstrehero curated Toxic Catalyst show in the beautiful San Francisco bay store. Toxic Catalyst showed off some of the best in resin casted figures.... ranging from one piece castings to the more complicated articulated pieces. With so many great pieces it was hard to pick any one favorite though I will say I was partial to the carded figures. I was also particularly drawn to Chris Rose's customs as well. Chris who has been quite busy lately had 3 pieces there that really showed off his design as well as his paint prowess. Of the carded figures, I kept finding myself going back to Sucklord's "Steam versus Analog" figures. Unfortunately the one figure I was most anticipating I somehow forgot to look for and am now going to have to make another trek to SF in hopes of seeing the figure created by Tattoo Royale's Guf... the one with the 8 ball head and the classy top hat.
As always the places was lively with both collectors and artists eager to share in the love of toys in any form. I for one am looking forward to seeing more from the resin artists out there and can't wait for the next show... and for those of you who were unable to make it out for the show, there are still a few pieces left over in the Super7 online store HERE, so head on over and pick up the goods! Hit the jump for more pictures from the event, and thanks to Hypnotiq and Anubis2night for the pics and the writeup!
