3A Beijing show reveals...
It's no secret that the 3A community is a very close one. The bond between the Ashley Wood (artist) and the collectors who share his vision and passion for both art and toys is equal to the craft and care that he and Kim put into the toys they make. And so the news of the upcoming show in Beijing with 3A toys Founders Ashley Wood and Kim is by no means a small feat. With artist like Kenny Wong, Jeremy Geddes, Phil Hale, and many more it promises to be a show unlike any other. And yet it is more than that. This show promises to see collectors from all over the globe make the adventurous trek to visit with each other and share in their love of both art and toys. This will be the first of many articles leading up to the show with planned coverage for as much of the event as we can get from our friends who are attending. So to start we will look at the toys that will be released there.
Ashley Wood has been telling us about some of the toys for many months but over the last few days we've actually started to get some great glimpses of these awesome toys. We will start with the 1:6 toys today and look further in the next article at the 1:12 toys and then cover the great art books that are dropping this month as well. And for those that can't make it there will even be some toys released on the 3A store bambaland as well.
So first up is the Hatchery TK Invite (as of this writing I believe this is separate from the Hatchery TK Elite, which comes with a bot head). The Hatchery TK invite with it's dirty distressed red gloves and matching hair promises to be the hit of the show and really is a great way to start things off. He comes with matching cleavers to chop his way through any obstacle. No word just yet on him but it would appear that he may be the special invitation used this year to come to the event. (Ashley and 3A are never ones to just send out a regular card)
Next up for the Beijing show is another figure from the Popbot line. The Badbot Manchester War edition is a 15" tall fully articulated Badbot this will feature the popular two eyed head and is still shrouded in mystery. There is word that some of these will be available for those lucky few who can score some on the bambaland store. (More word as we get confirmation of date and time) Also from the Popbot universe is the 2nd TK, the Hatchery Guard Elite, my personal favorite this is similar to the Hatchery Guard Invite but as mentioned before has the bot head that accompanies it along with those killer twin cleavers. And rounding out the Popbot worlds is the Ultra Pink Cupcake TQ (Tomorrow Queen). She comes with dual katana's and a attitude.
Also in the 1:6 line up from the World War Robot toy line comes the first Fallen De Plume named Kuan Ti Plume. Not much is known about him at this time other than that he's pretty cool looking and will be super limited. The next 1:6 figure on the Beijing line up is a Large Martin. Measuring 18" tall and painted in a exclusive color for the event this Hatchery Guard Large Martin promises to be a hit of the show. And as if this wasn't enough there will also be a limited special edition boxed set from the Adventure Kartel line up. The Adventure Kartel Adventure Set comes with 4 figures, Ghost Shadow, Missionary Zomb, Shadow Tommy and Shadow Zombot. There will be a very limited supply of these availably on the bambaland store as well. Look for them on June 22, 6 p.m. pacific time.
And this is by no means the end of the great toys and art that will be available at this event. We still have the 1:12 figures and the art books to cover next. And we haven't even started coverage of the 1:1 squares and 1:1 Large Martin that will be on hand at the event. Plus there promises to be many more surprises to be revealed soon.
