Super 7's 9th Anniversary recap...
So this last weekend saw the 9th anniversary of vinyl toy store Super 7, which I was fortunate enough to be on hand at the in San Francisco to participate in the festivities, and while it may be sad to know they are moving in the future it's always great to look back on what they have accomplished in their current location and to look forward to what they will be bringing to the future of vinyl.
For those that have not been to Super 7 it's a great location in the heart of Japantown in SF. The layout is great with many newer toys adorning the left wall and some great little treasure in the display cases in the rear. My personal favorite of the place (besides the custom flocked Star Wars wallpaper) are the two large vintage Japanese movie posters (one at the entrance to the store and the other located at the rear). And so on this special occasion it seemed fitting to make my annual trek to view each of these great works of art and then proceed to take a look around. By the time I got there the festivities were already starting with drinks and cake on display.
Golden grab bags were situated on the back table providing quite a sight for vinyl lovers. Then at the appropriate time the crowd (myself included) lined up to get these great gift bags and after purchase we waited to open them as a group.
But what could words describe when our very own friend and blogger Kirkland Jue of Toybot Studios was on hand and has video and the majority of these great photos to show for it, not to mention some great photos as well from artist DrilOne! Click on the links for more photos and of course video, and hit the jump for a full photo slide show!
