Le Merde at Japan's "Thrash Out"
Luke Rook co-owner of Lulubell Toy Bodega has had the opportunity to see so much great stuff on his recent visit to Japan, and he brought his camer along as well as his witty writing skill to capture the opening of the "Severed For Life" show featuring new works by Le Merde and Gargamel! [Press from Luke Rook] "Dude, Mike Kelly IS the shit. If you ever had doubt look no further then, "Severed for Life" at Koenji's Thrash Out. Severed refers to the floating head of Hujili and it's ghostly body. This one man wrecking machine brought some serious heat; paintings, prints, a ton of customs, a smattering of one off resins and a small custom show on his new Gargamel colab, Hujili's Ghost. This figure slays, bringing together Gargamel's Hedoran arms and legs with a newly sculpted head and body. Everything just worked, a perfectly metal show that kicked one square in the visual balls."
