WHAT'S NEW

Indy Euphoria 2010

Indy Euphoria is a celebration of three different mediums (Indy Comix, DIY, Vinyl Toys) with each sharing the common themes of imagination and creativity. There are going to be a ton of artists spanning all mediums at this event not to mention some appearances from vinyl artists such as AttaBoy, Jim Woodring, Mark Bode, Josh Ellingson, and Jesse Hernandez!

Indy Comix present an alternative to "mainstream" superhero comics and span a wide range of genres, artistic styles, and subjects. Indy Comix are also known as alternative comics, underground comix, independents or small press. Many self-published mini-comics also fall under this umbrella.

DIY (Do It Yourself) is a term used to describe the creation or alteration of something without the aid of experts or professionals. DIY is associated with the zine/mini-comics community, alternative/indy rock and rockabilly/hardcore punk music scenes and, the arts & crafts movement. It offers an alternative to modern consumer culture's emphasis on relying on others to solve needs. Expect to see zines, DIY cd's/records and crafts such as silkscreen t-shirts, knitting, sewing, handmade jewelry, ceramics, buttons, stickers and patches mostly inspired by indy comix, vinyl toys, punk/indy/rockabilly music, ect...

Vinyl Toys also known as Designer Toys & Urban Vinyl, is a term used to describe toys and other collectibles that are mostly produced in limited editions and created by artists and designers. These toys are made out of a variety of materials; vinyl and ABS plastic are most common, although wood, metal, and resin are occasionally used. The term also encompasses plush, cloth and latex dolls. Creators of these toys usually have backgrounds in graphic design, illustration or self-described low brow/new brow art; some are classically trained in art and design, while others are self-taught.
