Jeff Soto's new figure "The Seeker" @ SDCC 09 and video interview from "The Run Up"
"There’s always that theme of conflict, of man versus nature, and usually nature seems to win."
-Jeff Soto
Jeff Soto’s intricate paintings are built of robotic figures and sprawling, organic landscapes. As a prominent member of the Lowbrow (or Pop Surrealism) art movement, the influence of graffiti, pop culture, and comics is quickly apparent. Yet nature always remains the crux of his work, as he’s interested in the ways we are affecting our environment. Jeff Soto’s work has appeared as commissioned illustrations and in galleries throughout the United States and Europe. Watch the interview from “The Run Up,” available for the first time to the public on Walrus TV.
Also Jeff is introducing at SDCC 09 this year a new figure titled "The Seeker". He states that "I have been working on several top secret projects with Bigshot Toyworks the past couple months and this is the first of the large vinyl toys we have in the works. I'm super excited about my jump back into toys and Klim and Scott at Bigshot have been awesome." This will be on display at the Con, so be sure to stop by booth #4833 for more info.
