Cut to the Core Design Challenge
We're also slapping huge high fives to all those who have submitted art to the skate deck contest so far. We have had some rocking designs come in - it?s pretty humbling to know what a talented community we have.
But wait! There's still three days left to dazzle us with your deck art. And as a little incentive for those who have been procrastinating - we?ve got a new judge and an additional prize for the contest. J. Namdev Hardisty, the author and designer of the book New Skateboard Graphics is going to joining in on the judging process and he?s also giving signed copies of his book to the five winners.
And last but not least, we want to give you an update on exciting developments going on at Infectious HQ that are helping to bring cash and exposure to artists in the community. We just launched The Community Art Project with Mozilla where five Infectious artists got paid cash and royalties to create unique art based on the Mozilla mission. What was cool about this project, is that while they wanted the Firefox logo in the design, they didn't want cheesy marketing pieces... they wanted conceptual art with a subtle call out to Firefox. Big props to Mozilla for embracing (and funding) art and creativity. And in the product retail world our collaboration with Kidrobot Online went so well that they?re now selling Infectious products in their bricks and mortar stores as well. And Urban Outfitters have also just started selling Infectious products in their online shop. Phew! Stayed tuned for more in this area soon.
It is our hope that one of the benefits of being part of Infectious is that we can connect you to our network and source fun, paying projects for as many of our artists as possible. We want your relationship with Infectious to be fulfilling, inspiring and (equally importantly) financially rewarding ;) Now give us one more high five and let's get to making some Mac Laptop skins.
