Walrus TV Artist Feature: Zephyr Interview
This week, Walrus TV brings you an interview with art pioneer Andrew Witten, also-known-as graffiti legend, Zephyr. Pulled from the Dithers series (for the first time available to the public for free), Zephyr talks about his early days as a train painter in New York, and his time spent with some of graff history's most-notable and influential artists.
During the early 80s, it was Zephyr who was part of the first wave of graffiti artists who made the transition into the galleries in the East Village. Alongside fellow artists Futura 2000 and Dondi White, Zephyr helped take graffiti to the next level; pulling it out of the streets and putting it into the galleries, their phenomenal work gained the praise and respect of graffiti heads, collectors, and art critics alike. Watch the interview on Walrus TV.
