Inspiration/Story behind the piece:
This print is dedicated to the memory of a sentient being named Diego who took the form of a cat for a while before moving on to what I hope is a more enlightened state. This print is a type of Buddhist prayer in hopes that Diego might someday, in some lifetime, reach Nirvana
Bio of Artist:
Karen Fiorito is a political street artist currently residing in Los Angeles, California. She has recently exhibited in Los Angeles, New York, Chicago, Seattle, Portland and Rome. Her artwork has appeared in Art in America, the Philadelphia Inquirer, the Boston Phoenix, the LA Weekly, URB magazine and the Seattle Weekly. Ms. Fiorito received her Master's in Fine Art in Printmaking from Arizona State University and her B.F.A. from the University of the Arts in Philadelphia. She currently owns and operates her own fine art printmaking studio and publishing company, Buddha Cat Press, which produces prints for such artists as Robbie Conal, Winston Smith and Mear One.

This print was done in conjunction with Pasadena City College, when Ms. Fiorito was a visiting artist.
