Artist bio:
Phoneticontrol (born Eric John William Broers in 1975) is a San Francisco based artist, curator, muralist and clothing designer. He is also a member of Pocket Full of Monsters, a worldwide artist collective. In 1999 he moved from the suburbs to Chicago and pursued record label management and illustration. Finding that he had to choose one over the other he decided on visual over audio. After visiting SF for an art show he was involved in 2005, he completely fell in love with the city. One year later, he packed up his cat and his stuff and pushed west to the Left Coast. He now lives in the Western Edition with his two cats and his rad wife.Don't sleep on this one guys (hehehe get it?) only 15 of these very limited prints are made, and they are sure to go super fast. I really dig Phonetics style, and I am super happy to support such a great artist.
With a strong sense of reuse and recycling themes throughout his work, his creations are often composed on found objects or other items brought home after a victorious trip to the local Salvation Army. Working intuitively and almost organically, he packs in cords, fins, and add tons of sci-fi doo-dads wherever they fit, almost as if the subject matter itself is born of salvaged parts. Phoneticontrol's artwork has been shown the world over, with most notable exhibitions in the UK, Australia, Japan, China, Italy and France.
