CREATING A FONT: STERN PRO
This is a really amazing video of the creation of a new font being released by P22 Type Foundry called "Stern Pro" and according to P22, Stern is the first design to be simultaneously released in both medias, Metal & Digital. The blending of new and old is so intriguing to me, this practice should be done more often!

Stern was created at the Pie Tree Press & Type foundry in collaboration with P22 type foundry and marks the first time a font will be simultaneously released as both a digital font and hand-set metal type. Stern is named for the late printer Christopher Stern and is an upright Italic intended for poetry settings and numerous other uses.
DIGITAL
The digital version of RTF Stern includes the OpenType Pro version plus four non-pro versions included for applications that do not support OpenType. The set features Stern Aldine, Regular, Tall Caps & Small Caps.
METAL
The (16pt on 18pt body) metal version of Stern is shipped directly from Pie Tree foundry in Vancouver, BC. It is cast to order by Jim Rimmer using foundry metal.
