Last week we were able to check out Martin Hsu's
opening of his new exhibit at Google! The show featured new playful scenes with one of Google's mascots, the bright green Android, as well as other pieces that show off Martin's unique style, such as soft, adorable kittens with glimmering eyes and a bit of a mischievous sparkle.
As predicted, the custom, hand painted Androids were a hit! Martin brought four lovely, one of a kind pieces with Blacky, two kittens that matched the large paintings with kittens, and a tiny white dog. My favorite is the pink with the white kitten (of course, who wouldn't want that one!). Many of the Androids sold right away!
Look at the size of the paintings!
Martin had a great turnout as always. While he was regaling the guests I was busy people watching, and I noticed as people ooh'ed and aah'ed over the pieces, including Googlers that just happened to walk by and see the show. Martin also had wine and Japanese mochi snacks on hand, with a fun guest book for visitors to sign. For those who get a chance to swing by Google's HQ, the display is still on between now and early December! You can also purchase pieces online
here!
