Give peace a chance, man! The 1960s were a tumultuous time, but so-called hippies the world over protested against war, using what was lovingly referred to as Flower Power. And the National Mobilization Committee to End the War in Vietnam's March on the Pentagon in October of 1967 resulted in two of the most iconic photos of Flower Power in action, Bernie Boston's "
Flower Power" and Marc Riboud's "
The Ultimate Confrontation: The Flower and the Bayonet", and proof of their impact was seen rather quickly as it was less than a year later that an iconic image of a woman placing a bouquet of flowers into a tank's barrel was taken (see photo
HERE). Of course, when we see that one of artist Rich "
UME Toys" Page's "GeekWok" characters has a flower in the barrel of its tank, we assume the Endorian nerd put it there himself! Pictured in a one-off kitbashed custom plastic tank that sports a brass flag pole with UME flag topper, removable barrel flower, and resin detailing, like the adorable "GeekWok" head sticking out of the pilot's pit! Titled simply enough "GeekWok Tank and driver", this unique work will be available on Friday, June 9th, 2017 at 1pm Pacific time in the
UME Toys's online shop for £87 (
approx. $112).
