Méxican artist
Jump Jumper Ant shares her wonderful, battle-ready Dunny clan design, with the five pieces prepared to jump into the fray against the other contributions to the upcoming
Dunny Hecho en México (or DMX) collective's "The Legend of the 10 Clans" blind boxed custom series. Featuring her signature resin doll eye feature, which have a Mona Lisa effect to them that seems to follow one around a room (
see it in action here), is a wonderful samurai warrior design. From the beautifully crafted
geta wooden sandals to the traditional topknot haircut known as a
chonmage, these pieces even have an immaculately executed
suji-kuma — the "sinew pattern" in makeup that is worn by the samurai hero in Japan's
kabuki theatre! Now, these pieces are widely being reported as being called the "Senbazuru Clan", but I'm fairly certain that is a typo that is being repeated; the artist refers to these characters as "guardian warriors of the Temple of a thousand paper cranes" and the name Senbadzuru — with a "d" between the "a" and "z" — would translate from Japanese as "a thousand paper cranes". Thus, I'm fairly certain, that Jump Jumper Ant's contribution is supposed to be the "Senbadzuru Clan"!
